July 2013-July 2014
I obviously got a little behind this past Christmas break and restricted my post to just the one about Dad's dying.
Also check out this awesome video link below that Micah made of our home with his Go Pro helicopter thingie. It's great although I would have weeded more and cleaned some areas of the house had I known he was going to be that extensive. He used this as a teaser to try and get realtors to hire him to help sell homes. Pretty cool.

Some of the major happenings in this time include moving into our new UTM Fine Arts Building, David's building an awesome deck on our house and our bringing in a crane to fly a pool above our home and attach it to the deck, hip surgery for me (the week before band camp so I could have extra time to move into the building) and spending 6 weeks in a wheel chair, a camper for my 40th birthday ( a few months early so we could enjoy it in the summer), David's academic speaking and band gigs, my professional music gigs, our new Ivory Tower of Power faculty funk band, trips to Michigan (Interlochen, the DIA, and more), Cleveland, Brazil (Recife/Olinda and Fernando de Naronha), other home improvements, and just recently, coming off a nearly 5000 mile road trip of 7 national parks/monuments including Badlands and Little Bighorn, Badlands, Yellowstone, Teton, Flaming Gorge, Dinosaur, Arches, Canyonlands, and Mesa Verde.
This a shorter post than normal, but not because there is less to mention. The photos will just have to tell our story as I have moved into more service with the Percussive Arts Society which takes up more time than ever (in a good way), but hopefully some "normalcy" will be headed my/our way once my two year stint as president is over as of January 1, 2017.
Life is good. We are happy, healthy (thankfully), and very well. We have a possible new addition to our family with the poor dying kitten left by our negligent redneck neighbors who had left this little one to die. She crawled in our driveway and we almost ran over her when we came hope from the epic road trip/camping trip. She couldn't even move to get out of the way. We are calling her Claire Baby as David said he had never seen someone overcome more adversity in life than his sister Claire and she was called Claire baby when she was little. That seemed fitting enough to me.
Peace. Out.
